Stinky's Story
On 26 June 2003 Stinky was struggling to survive at his home, a local dairy farm. He heard his potential rescuers voices just outside the barn and quickly popped out of a crack in the barn door. He decided he would have to adopt himself into a new family since his birth mother had abandoned him due to his being extremely ill.
Upon seeing him (he was a mess), his new adoptive parents quickly decided that he would definitely not survive another day unless something was done. He was taken to his new home, cleaned up and given a cozy place to rest.
He was very smelly from living in the barn with the cows, and so he got his name.
The following day he was taken to work with his new adoptive mother who just so happened to work at a local vet office. He got better but had off and on health issues for the rest of his life.
Stinky succumbed to renal failure (kidney disease) on 10 June 2019 being kissed on the head as he fell asleep.
He has a sunny resting place in a pasture of his 2-acre farm.
